This may be the only picture I managed to get of Owen at Monkey Joe's last week, but I'd say it definitely captures his display of utter joy! For my out-of-town readers, Monkey Joe's is like a brightly painted warehouse full of every big blow-up bouncy thing you can think of! Climbing, sliding, jumping - and all on big fluffy cushions of air! And, they even have two sections specifically for the "Mini-Monkeys" - ie, all kids 3-and-under, like my little guy.
If you live in Charlotte, you've probably already been to this virtual wonderland... and if you haven't been, then you simply must go. And you should go today! Wednesdays are half-price -$2.50 for endless entertainment resulting in the joy pictured above?? Jackpot.
Greetings, internet. Brace yourselves for a shocking and thrilling announcement...
Matt has given me... Drum roll, please...
A SNUGGIE!!!!!!!!!
Yes, yes, it's true! I know - be still my heart! Remember this post? Well, fantasy has become reality, and I am now the satisfied owner of a Snuggie (and complimentary book light!).
It had been a crazy week, and my sweet husband decided to surprise me with a UPS package full of love and fleece. I mean, seriously - does it get much better than being fully enveloped in a warm blanket, needing to reach for a glass of water, and not having to remove your arm from the blanket!?! I would say NO.
Breaking news: also doubles as a shepherd's costume! Who knew?
Good Monday morning to you all... I will warn you that I am only partially conscious right now after a whirlwind weekend and not enough caffeine in my system.
Currently, I am sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee on one side of me and my son on the other. One of them is hitting himself in the head with a tupperware lid. I'll let you guess which one.
So this Valentine's weekend was definitely our best yet - Matt & I went to a Love & Respect marriage conference and it was seriously amazing. In our six years of marriage we've never been to a marriage conference until now. If you are married or engaged you really should try to get to one of these conferences, or at least read the book. Talk about helping us decode each other. Wow.
Now, don't get me wrong - we are both slow learners. Actually, I prefer to say that we like to test out the material. I mean, we were totally the couple who got in a fight in the parking lot after the first night's sessions. (A fight with each other. For some reason when I wrote that sentence I started picturing us in a fistfight with another couple, scrapping in the parking lot. Anyone else's mind go there?) (Need. More. Caffeine.) But don't worry, we made up and had an amazing time through the rest of the conference.
Owen had a great Valentine's day as well. I will put you out of your misery on this completely haphazard post and just leave you with a little clip of Owen opening his V-day card from Nana & Pawpa...
This is a shout out to all my people at Coffeemate. I would like to extend my sincere and enthusiastic appreciation to whoever (finally) decided to put a plastic pull-top on the new Coffeemate containers. Nothing like picking at super-glued-on foil tops to ruin the excitement of a fresh bottle of French Vanilla. So thank you, Coffeemate, for making my morning coffee even more wonderful.
Anyone recognize the product in the above picture?
Yes, friends, it's the Slanket. Or, if you'd rather, the Snuggie. What I want to know is why everyone around me thinks this thing is ridiculous! Matt calls it "the freaky little blanket thing." What!?!? I mean, it's a BLANKET!WITH!SLEEVES!
